Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, a State-run entity, is at the epicentre of a very diverse and interesting wildlife locality, with a wide range of wildlife venues and accommodation options in northern Zululand.
Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve - the consolidation of the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, the uMfolozi Game Reserve and the Corridor - is the largest Provincial wildlife park in KwaZulu-Natal. A Big Five Game Reserve - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard with a large variety of other wild animals which includes cheetah, wild dog, giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope. Accommodation is provided in a variety of rooms in camps, lodges and bush camps.

Northern Zululand, was previously a marginal farming area with a few wildlife game farms. This has all changed, with the removal of the crops, consolidation of the properties and the reintroduction of the endemic wildlife, creating a vast wildlife conservation area, large Private Game Reserves, with a wide variety of accommodation options. Phinda Private Game Reserve, one of them in the area, is a World-renowned success, with some of the finest Big Game viewing in South Africa. Phinda Private Game Reserve has a number of Lodges which provide fully catered luxury accommodation for guests with outstanding game viewing.
Adjacent to the Phinda Private Game Reserve are numerous, now well-established Private Game Reserves, we have a few we can recommend. The Management of these Game Reserves creating a unified Conservation success. The entire area becoming recognised for its incredible game viewing of African wildlife, in particular lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and general plains game. The waterways have numerous hippo and crocodile, with the birdlife extremely good in its diversity. This area stretches from the Indian Ocean through to the highveld, offering the opportunity for one to see a broad variety of Africa’s wildlife exceedingly well.
